Some quick facts

My name is Laura, I am 33 years old and live in the Netherlands. I have been blogging since 2010 and have the biggest baking blog in the Netherlands with over 4 million page views per month. Now, 14 years later, I am working hard to translate my recipes for this English baking blog.

Blogging started as a hobby, but since 2014 Laura’s Bakery is my full-time job. I no longer do it alone and have a nice team working with me.

Blogging is not the only thing I do. I have written 7 baking books (in Dutch) and have also developed several collections of Laura’s Bakery baking products that are sold in a drugstore in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Books and baking products

In 2016, I published my first ever baking book. This book focuses on baking basics and how to vary them. Currently I have published 7 baking books and I’m working hard on book number 8, which will be published in April 2025. All my books are in Dutch.

In 2021 I have launched my very first line of baking products. These baking products are exclusively available in a Dutch drugstore (and Belgium too!). At this moment I have already developed more than 12 different collections and I am already working on new plans.

About Laura

I baked a lot as a little girl and was always allowed to help in the kitchen. As you can imagine, I found baking very interesting. As the years went by I started to do more and more on my own and the recipes got a bit more complicated.

In 2009 I went a step further and entered the world of decorating cakes, cupcakes and cookies. That’s also when I started blogging (in Dutch). These days I don’t decorate much with fondant and marzipan anymore, I mostly use fruit and other delicious ingredients to make the most beautiful cakes. And Laura’s Bakery is no longer sweet, the blog is full of appetizers, quiches and other baked goods. From sweet baking to appetizers, there is a little bit of everything here!

Besides baking, I love to travel with my camera and discover what is eaten in other countries, especially when it comes to sweets. I also love being at home, cuddling with my bunny, reading a book or cooking delicious meals for family and friends. Boredom is not in my vocabulary.
